Help Fund New Album, House Tears
$10,165 of $10k Goal, 204 Supporters, 10/05/23
Hi All, this is Diane Cluck. Thank you for visiting my crowdfunding page. We’re currently mixing my tenth record House Tears and I'm here to ask for help in funding its creation.
House Tears is a studio record! And I believe it'll ultimately include twelve songs. There are some instrumentals, a few fully-realized band tracks featuring excellent guest musicians, and songs where I solo-accompany myself on piano or guitar. Having spent more time at home over the past few years I began to perceive “the house” as broadly including all areas of life that need tending to--relationships, emotional patterns, condition of the body, things I own. Cleaning and clearing, feeling confined or defined, refining the house. "How's your house?" Preview the title track below:
Please see the sidebar (desktop view) or continue scrolling below (mobile version) for digital pre-orders and other fundraising services/perks that I'm currently offering!
Thank you for anything you're able to contribute to making this record. I imagine your work life may have changed and been challenged over the past few year, as has mine. With so many important projects in the arts seeking funding, I deeply appreciate your support. I still love singing and songwriting and can't wait to share these recordings with you.
House Tears is planned for digital release in the fall of 2023. Updates will be posted here and mailed out as details become known.

Making a record at even a modest professional level can quickly become expensive. I find this recent post (scroll down to "Secondly..." in bold) by musician Carsie Blanton to be helpful in its transparency, as so many of us wonder how others are managing the economics of working in music. Each year, after deducting business expenses and paying taxes, my personal spendable funds are equal to or less than $30k. It's not an income from which I can fund recording recording projects on my own. But with 25k-50k Spotify listeners enjoying my music on a monthly basis (and 60% of Spotify users listening for free) it seems reasonable to ask for help!
Curious about my work life? Below is a pie that I baked at the end of 2022. Each year is a little different. I did very little touring last year and didn't release a new record. I mainly stayed local and focused on teaching and Patreon, which felt good.
Thank you again. Any questions, please ask: email@example.com
