Diane Cluck

Greetings!

On the brink of wintry celebration and hibernation, I thought to share with you a simple song that came a knockin' last month around election time, working title “Throw Open the Doors…". You can freely watch/listen from my website or Patreon.com. Lyrics + chords appear at the bottom of this message for those who might like to try playing it.

This song share was made possible by a steadfast crew of paid subscribers at patreon.com/dianecluck, with its rolling month-to-month or discounted yearly membership. This is where, for the past four years, I've been sharing new songs in the works, writings, images, and occasional online concerts.

Winter Session of my 12-Week Songwriting Workshop begins on Saturday, January 11th, 11am-1pm ET (more info & register here). This workshop is open to all levels of experience, including those who are new to the craft and/or don't play an instrument. We'll exercise core songwriting skills through creative exploration, encouragement, listening, and intuition. It's always a joy to see who "shows up” and what music gets made! Winter Session can be a great spark through the dark season, guiding us all the way to Spring. Seven spaces are yet available.

Lastly, I'm planning on pressing 10" vinyls of House Tears in January, hopefully to ship by February. Pre-orders help cover the big expense of pressing hundreds of records and are much appreciated! If you haven't yet heard the new record, House Tears can be streamed and/or purchased from Bandcamp and will be added to major streaming platforms next month.

Thank you for your listening and support!
Raising you here a mug of cheer (Dandy Blend for the win…)
Diane

“Throw Open the Doors…”
A-Sections (E / A / E / A / D / E)
B-Sections (A / D / A / D / A / D / E)

Throw open the doors of your house
It’s time to welcome the guests
What happens is all of our work
What happens is all of our mess
What happens is all of our work
What happens is anyone’s guess

Oh I’ve been scared of you
If I’m being honest
And you’ve been scared of me, too
Oh I’ve been scared of you

Throw open the doors of your house
It's time to welcome the mess
When all of the ones you would curse
Are first lining up to be blessed
We know there's no time to rehearse
And maybe it's all for the best

Though I've been scared of you
I've got a promise
To keep on listening through
Though I've been scared of you

Throw open the doors of your house…
