On Saturday, August 24th I'm playing a fundraiser concert for the mutual aid and agroecology network Cooperate WNC. The night's festivities will take place at Earthaven Ecovillage in Black Mountain, NC opening with Brandi Mizilca, a scholar and performer of world folk traditions in dance and music. Hallelujah… we sent my record off to be mastered this week. That means we're done fiddling with it. I'd never taken this long to finish a record but the timing feels fine to me. This past year has thrown many challenges and blessings our way and there's been grace in finding patience with all of it. “It's a weird record” I reflected to my co-producer Colin Killalea as we gave it one last listen. “It is a weird record”, he agreed.
