Hello Everyone,
Thank you for taking a moment with my year's-end news.
I'm pleased to be offering my 12-Week Songwriting Workshop on Monday nights, 6-8pm ET from January 10th-March 28th. Currently there are nine spaces available. I've been awed, joy-struck, and tearfully delighted by songs created in these workshops over the past year. Some participants had never written a song before, and some were seasoned musicians trying a new approach. In each group a culture of listening and co-support quickly developed.
More info/register here. If I can help make participation possible for you, please be in touch. This is the last 12-week workshop I'll be hosting for a while as I plan to focus on album-making and touring in 2022.

Through the end of this week all physical merchandise in my online store is discounted. My elf-self will be doing up packages of rosemary salve, cds, vinyl, shirts, and illustrated lyrics, and making trips to the local post office.
Creative Mentoring is available for those who'd like to have an occasional 1:1 for airing dreams, hopes, and edges in their creative process. This is something I love to hold space for as I want to see more of us feeling empowered in our natural human creativity! (If you happen to live in/near Charlottesville, VA, keep an eye out for our free, upcoming series in January, likely titled Creative Livelihood at The Bridge PAI.)

On January 14th I'll provide a musical interlude for Henry Hoke's book tour event at New Dominion Books in Charlottesville, VA. 7-8pm, free & open to the public. Come listen to Henry read excerpts from his memoir Sticker--“Hoke offers up an evocative reflection on queerness, race, and his hometown of Charlottesville, Va. A unique perspective on one of the most infamous cities in recent American history.” -Publishers Weekly
While we're on the subject of books I must mention Energetic Herbalism--a new offering from herbalist, teacher, and founder of Sacred Plant Traditions, Kat Maier. Kat's school was a motivating factor in my choice to move to Charlottesville. Her gracious, community-oriented, profound-yet-approachable way of engaging with plants and people has inspired me deeply. I'm recommending Energetic Herbalism as an amazing book to engage with and integrate over time.

There are strawberry plants growing alongside my house, likely keeping them a bit warmer. Still, I was surprised to find this Decemberry as I raked away leaves the other day. And more blossoms on the way.
This year for the first time ever I decided to decorate for the holiday/Solstice season, and hung a Moravian star. These have an interesting history; it seems they may have started out as a geometry lesson in Germany. They were common where I grew up in Pennsylvania and always gave me a special feeling.
And now to continue drifting quietly out of 2021. Thank you for your kind support. Please take best care of y/ourselves.
In Love,
Diane
