Diane Cluck

Greetings, Everyone,

It's been my intention to send out a Spring newsletter--and realizing I have a show this evening I'm going to pull together a few bits of news in this tiny window of today!

Tonight! March 28th in Charlottesville, Virginia I'm thrilled to be playing a set at The Front Porch, a beloved non-profit that makes music education accessible to many in the local area. I'll be playing a set after the excellent Brittany Ann Tranbaugh (in a duo with Shona Carr), a singer-songwriter who describes her sound as "queer Americana from Philly". I fell in love with Brittany Ann's heart-smart songs and summery voice when I first heard "Almost Ready to Be Friends". Doors open at 7pm (for socializing + best choice of seats), Show at 8pm.

Last month, along with dozens of other artists, I had the honor of contributing a song to If Only I Could Fly, a compilation for L.A. Wildfire Relief curated by Little Mazarn, Hemlock and Jolie Holland. I included the previously-unreleased “Gaze Upon You”. It's a phone recording! We were urged to be timely and unperfectionistic in our offerings--a good prescriptive for showing up in these times.

New in my online store are handwritten lyrics printed on cotton khadi paper. The selection of songs was chosen by the people who contributed to my fundraiser for House Tears. I wrote out their songs, made extra copies and kept going! 'Twas a good and grounding indoor project during the snowy months. Lyrics are written in black ink but I can add a dash of color by request--see examples at dianecluck.info/store. Below is a version of “Easy to Be Around” that someone had custom-framed in green!

Along the lines of small-things-we-can-do, 25% of proceeds from these lyrics sheets are going towards individuals and organizations working towards food & housing security in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. Next up: https://www.emergencyfoodnetwork.org/--a local non-profit that delivers three days worth of groceries on the day of request--no questions asked.

I'll return again soon with updates about House Tears vinyl + upcoming teaching offerings and other musings.

Thanks for your time; sparkling wishes for your day…

Love,
Diane
